Linx 8900 CIJ coder meets low temp application challenge.
Linx 8900 CIJ Coder has been selected as coding solution by Erlenbacher Backwaren, a leading German manufacturer of frozen cakes. Supplied by Bluhm Systeme GmbH German distributor of Linx, Linx 8900 effectively mark on plastic film packaging even through condensation.
Frozen cakes from Erlenbacher Backwaren are subject to temperature differences during the production process. This can lead to condensation forming on the packaging film. The Linx 8900 CIJ Coder is able to print through a layer of moisture to deliver a clear, readable and durable marking. Code remains in place on the substrate in temperatures of minus 35 C in deep-freeze storage. Customer has been highly impressed with its printing capabilities and ease of operation.
The cakes packages are coded with a batch ID number as well as the compulsory best before date. This is specified by quality assurance program of Erlenbacher Backwaren. Walter Thellmann, Maintenance Supervisor, says that Linx 8900 is a great solution for the company’s production line. Frozen products passing the printer at a speed of 35 m/min, so that more than 1,000 units are marked per hour.
Ease of use is another key benefit of the Linx 8900 CIJ Coder. The 10-inch touchscreen makes adding and altering text extremely easy. It allows operators to quickly select messages for printing. Various production parameters can also be entered and stored. Printer can be configured for up to four different production scenarios at the touch of a button. Password protection prevents unintentional wrong entries.
The Linx 8900’s design ensure no errors while the refilling of inks and solvents. The containers for these consumables are different shapes so that they can only be placed in the correct location. Automatic fluid recognition ensures that the right fluids are used in the coder. A special septum seal prevents leakage of ink and solvent.
The Linx 8900 offers maximum flexibility for placement on the production line. This is due to its compact design including the option to be wall-mounted, and its long up to 6m printhead conduit. Maintenance is extremely easy, with the service intervals of 18 months. It takes around 30 minutes for untrained personnel to complete via simple menus that guide the user through the process.
